Hard to Handle by K. Bromberg

Summary

Hunter Maddox is the top hockey player and wanted by many, but lately, the tension off the field is visible. The hockey team management is fed up with his actions, and his agents are ready to give up on him, but no one seems to realize the pain he is harboring deep inside.

Then comes Dekker Kincade. The girl who walked away from Hunter years ago is now back, hoping to fix him. Hunter doesn’t want to help, but slowly Dekker breaks his walls down and catches a glimpse of the man she fell in love with years later. She may be traveling with Hunter’s team for the business, but it is also incredibly personal.

Review

First, if you love sports romances, you will love Hard to Handle because it is the epitome of a sports romance. It contains the alpha male player and the strong female character. K. Bromberg creates two characters with insecurities that overpower their relationships and make them wary of deep connections. The personal struggles portrayed by the characters are relatable to readers, which makes it a delightful book.

Family issues are also portrayed in this book and show that not all family relationships are healthy. Hunter, especially, struggles with his relationships with family members, and K. Bromberg creates a dynamic where the opinions of family members fuel Hunter’s anger.

Overall, I fell in love with the characters and the underlying storyline. I liked that there was more than just a romance. K. Bromberg writes in a way that holds the reader’s attention until the end.

I highly recommend this book and give it 5 out of 5 stars!
